Day 88: Mt Thielsen
From Thielsen Creek mile 1853.6 to Windigo Pass mile 1875.7
From the still snow covered Thielsen Creek at the base of Mt Thielsen it was an easy cruising 22 miles. Gentle ups and downs. Meadows where the pumice is too deep for much to grow (pumice is so porous no water is retained near the surface).
We carried enough water to get make it the 16 miles to Six Horse Spring. Two southbound hikers told us there was a water cache at Windigo Pass so we did not have to carry much. The pass where we are camped is not the prettiest spot but it works for the night.
