Day 77: Nowhere To Go But Up

From Seiad Valley mile 1653.4 to mile 1676.8

Seiad Valley is at 1500 elevation so, unless you head to the ocean, there is no where to go but up from there.  I ended the day at about 6200 feet or up about 4700 feet.

Cloud cover today saved the day.  The first ten miles, most of the climb, are all without shade.   It would have been truly miserable if the sun had been out.  It was out, but only after noon when the worst was past.

Oh, obviously I decided to hike on with my damaged boot until Ashland where I will get replacements.  I’ve got about 40 miles to Ashland so if I can do 25 miles tomorrow I can get to town early Friday afternoon.

The cafe and store, i.e., the entire town.
