Day 28: 500 Mile Mark
From Lake Hughes Rd mile 485.7 to mile 506
I passed the 500 mile mark today. 20.3 miles today, mostly through nice wooded mountains. I got water from a really nice spring in the morning and from a large concrete cistern in the afternoon.
I am camped at around 5100 feet in a grove of trees that is beautiful. It will be the last for a bit. I was looking down at the Mojave desert much of the day. Tomorrow I start to cross it.
Start early–hang tough, you are doing a fantastic job! I’ll be anxious to hear about it.
