Day 10: Albert

Another glorious weather day.   It was cold enough to enjoy my bag last night.  Perhaps in low 50s.   Within a few miles this morning there were great views from Ridgepole Mtn.  Later, the climb up Albert Mtn was tough.  Steep, using hands in places.  At the top an old fire tower and views.  The descent down the other side was gentler.  Hiked 13.5 miles today and am dry camped at about mile 107 from Springer.

I am about 2 miles from Winding Stair Gap, about 30 from the Nantahala Outdoor Center, where I will buy more food.  I need to step up my pace now and be there first thing Sunday.
