How Dangerous Are High Sierra Conditions? (from the Fresno Bee)

This is why I am bypassing the Sierra Nevada for now. I will start back on the trail at I80 / Truckee or Sierra City and continue on to Canada. After reaching Canada I’ll come back and do the 450 miles I skipped.
